The paints I have available to me are not all miniature specific paints many are also craft paints. I’ve not painted a lot of red I decided to take stock of my reds and how they look on a white background. (I know it isn’t a perfectly white background and it bears the marks and scars of older tests and experiments, but hopefully it gets the job done.)
Looking across the spectrum of what I have I think I will attempt to use: Americana Napa Red and GW Red Gore as the shadows, transitioning to Reaper's Deep Red if necessary. The base will be Valejo's Flat Red. The next highlight will be Reaper's Blood Red. If I need more highlighting I will look to the Anita's Raspberry Red. This will hopefully allow me to get the rich reds I indicated before.
So now that I have these minis and I’ve selected the paints to start. I should be off painting and not talking about painting. I hope that this has been informative and soon I will be posting more details as this goes on. Possibly quickly making notes as mmaranda on twitter. My own photos and updates to this topic can be found in this Picasa album.
